OUR FIRM
At Dumas Medical Investigations we pride ourselves as being, what many consider us as, the best in the Medical Investigations industry. We employ only the most highly skilled, trained, and educated professionals available. Our investigators come from various backgrounds in order to maintain this image and to remain at the cutting edge in our highly specialized field. Additionally, we further educate and train our investigators, capitalizing on the skills they already possess, on how to successfully investigate an incident of neglect and/or abuse in a medical or long-term facility.
We attribute our success to having the best training program available. It focuses on one small area of investigations, our desire for perfection, and our commitment to our clients. Additionally, our experience and training over the past 15 years, which has included, local, state, and federal law enforcement and nursing home litigation-specialized attorneys, doctors, and nurses, has provided us with diversity, skill, and knowledge, that is unsurpassed.
At Dumas Medical Investigations, our reputation in the legal community and abroad is paramount. It is a reflection of our group and our accomplishments, not only as a firm, but as individuals. This is what has put us at the top and will keep us there. Likewise, we only affiliate ourselves with firms that we feel can mutually compliment our efforts and have the resources, knowledge, and vision necessary to be at the forefront in this area of litigation. This has proven true by the fact that we have investigated cases of neglect and abuse that have led to settlements and/or verdicts that now approaches $100 million.
Most cases take a month or longer to complete. Because of this, one must be dedicated to the cause and beyond merely acceptable in order to be successful. We have established ourselves as being the best through exceeding the highest of expectations. Your case will be treated at no less of a standard. We cannot and will not cut corners in any shape, form or fashion in our quest for success. We feel that for us to do so would put us on the same level as the facilities we investigate and therefore, no better. Basically, we refuse to further victimize the victims of wrongdoing. These cases are very expensive and time consuming but they are an absolute necessity since they get to the heart of uncovering corporate greed and the truth of how things really are.
Let there be no mistake, medical investigations are also among the most difficult of cases to investigate. After all, we are sometimes going up against multi-billion dollar corporations, who virtually have an endless budget. In late 2001 we had the privilege of working a case against the largest nursing home chain in the United States, Beverly Healthcare. We were contracted by the nationally recognized law firm of Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis, and Miles - www.beasleyallen.com, to investigate the case and report our findings.
Our investigation proved to be crucial in the development and presentation of evidence at trial, which ended in a $7 million verdict against the facility.
Just like that jury, we at Dumas Medical Investigations have vowed to do our part to stop this trend in the abuse and/or neglect of America’s elders. They have sacrificed most of their lives to provide us with the quality of life that we all now enjoy. Without these sacrifices we would not be able to enjoy the freedoms and luxuries of today’s society. For this we owe each one of them dignity, compassion, comfort and quality care for the remainder of their time here.
In closing, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to read about our firm. We would be happy to meet with you to listen to your medical investigation needs and review your strategies to see if we could be of benefit to your cause. If you have a case that involves medical neglect such as bedsores, falls, dehydration, malnutrition, elopement, poor hygiene, or abuse, etc. then we are the firm you need to help you successfully litigate your case.
You can feel confident in knowing that your case is in good hands as we truly care about each and every case we work. We know your client’s loved one is, or was, important to them, even more so than a case is to us. For that reason we will do everything within our ability to help you bring closure to their loved one’s misfortune by treating their case as if it were one of our own loved ones.
